Cthulhu Sushi T-Shirt

Hey look, it’s Cthulhu, only slightly geekier than usual, thanks to the addition of a pair of Jinx’s signature glasses! They call it the Cthulhu Sushi T-Shirt, interesting.

Cthu-what you say? Cthulhu (often, but arguably pronounced kah-thoo-loo) is writer H.P Lovecraft’s most well known creation, and is one of the central Great Old Ones of the Lovecraft Mythos. Cthulhu is often cited for the extreme descriptions given of its hideous appearance, its gargantuan size, and the abject terror that it evokes, often driving mortal men insane.

The dark colour scheme of this design works well for the subject matter, and I like that it’s not center aligned. Click on the image to go to the site, and you’ll see that the Cthulhu graphic lays over the left chest area.

Space Odyssey T-Shirt

Today we have the Space Odyssey T-Shirt from J!NX. The graphic design of the tee is undeniably awesome. It appears to depict an American astronaut in space, helmet smashed, revealing a human skeleton. It’s striking and makes you wonder, what horrors does this t-shirt foretell?

Is it a warning for humans to stay where they belong? Is there something else out there, something unfriendly? Does it warn simply of human error in an environment where errors are fatal. I think the beauty of this shirt is that it leaves it up to our imaginations.

Lego Maniac T-Shirt

Every kid grew up playing with Lego, right? Those little blocks were awesome, you were only limited by your imagination. If you still have warm, fuzzy, nostalgic feelings about playing with Lego AND you happen to be a fan of horror movies, you’re bound to love the Lego Maniac T-Shirt.

We love the graphic style of the design. The Maniac looks like a mix between Jason Vorhees from Friday the 13th and Leatherface from The Texas Chainsaw Masacre. The hockey mask is Jason’s trademark, while the apron and chainsaw are very Leatherface. The victim has been dismembered into his base pieces, lying in a pool of blood – but don’t worry I’m sure he could be put back together easily!

Alien Burst Day T-Shirt

While I’d like to assume everyone has seen the movie Alien, I’ll quickly explain the premise of the Alien Burst Day T-Shirt.

In Ridley Scott’s classic 1979 sci-fi/horror movie Alien, a human crew board an alien spacecraft, where an alien parasitoid, lovingly referred to as a facehugger attaches itself to a human named Kane’s face. The crew are unable to remove the creature but eventually it detaches on its own and is found dead. Kane seems unharmed, but unbeknownto the crew, his chest had been implanted with an alien embryo (lovingly referred to as a chestburster!). The crew learn this soon after when the alien bursts from Kane’s chest, killing him and escaping into the ship.

The Burst Day T-Shirt is a fun take on this situation, showing the Chestburster alien eagerly counting down the days to ‘burst day!’
