This is a great shirt for the morbidly offensive joker in all of us. But even I thought this might be a bit too ironical at first glance.
I think the problem is graphical context.
The gag should be more prominent – Using red al the way around. And designers need to stop recycling the same old fonts over and over. Something more classy would have really made this for all its worth.

Not at all. There’s very few designers that study or even look for artistic value in typography. The problem lies in complacency or just plain laziness.
