According to Wookieepedia.com, Admiral Ackbar was a Mon Calamari leader and military commander. His name translates to “selfless servant,” and he devoted himself to the cause of galactic freedom and became the foremost military commander of the Alliance to Restore the Republic.
Um, whatever you say, Wookieepedia dot com. Of course, the rest of us know that Ackbar became the foremost military commander to scream “It’s a trap!” during Return of the Jedi. The Wookieepedia entry on Ackbar (which is literally 6,000 words long!) doesn’t mention the “It’s a trap!” thing until near the end. Egregious! For those of us who respect the epic genius of Ackbar’s shining moment, here are two shirts recognizing his achievement.
The first is the It’s a Trap T-Shirt from Nerdy Shirts, and it depicts Ackbar’s googly-eyed bust and one-liner in yellow silhouette, similar to how we’ve seen certain incarnations of the franchise title — Star Wars.

The second It’s a Trap T-Shirt is from Split Reason and uses Ackbar’s exclamation itself to create the Admiral’s bizarre, macrocephalic head. Roughly speaking, “IT’S” makes up the head-proper, “A” functions as the nose and “TRAP!” constitutes his lower jawline. It sounds like a mess, but it really is a striking resemblance to the Admiral. I guess when you have eye stems and a head that looks like someone poured acid on a giant squash, a mess is exactly what you’re going for.
